Hello and welcome back to my blog.

I was away from the 11th of June until just a couple hours ago and have decided that I will do a writing marathon starting at midnight June 20, 2017. This will replace the writing marathon that I had intended to do back on the Sunday before Victoria Day when I had to go in that day for an over time shift.

Currently at T-minus 96 minutes.

I will be shooting for 18 thousand words written. Forgot to mention that earlier

Currently at T-minus 64 minutes.

0003 – hour one got 457 words written, 17453 from my goal. Currently working on Life of Attack short story.

0104 – break

0130 to 0230 hour 2 shooting for 549 words written. Bear in mind while I am not trying to make excuses if I don’t make the 18000 words, I was up early Monday morning to drive home and had not one minute of sleep in the vehicle I will likely have to take naps for this marathon as I try to build up where I can write straight for 24 hours with few if any breaks for future marathons.

Got 566 words for total of 1023 words written. 16977 from my goal.

0230 break until 0600, no more breaks of more than 10 to 15 minutes until I get to at least 12 thousand words written. I have to get at least 944 words written every hour until midnight to get my goal of 18000 words.

0600 to 0700 got 1032 words written for a total of 2055. 15 945 words away from my goal. Now i need to get 886 words written every hour to get the goal. the next hour though I will be shooting for 1239 words written.

0700 to 0715 break

0715 to 0815 got 915 words written for a total of 2970. 15030 from my goal. Now I will need to get 885 words written every hour to get to the goal. For the next hour will shoot again for 1239 words written.

0815 to 0830 break

0830 to 0930 got 667 words written for a total of 3637 words written. 14363 from my goal. Now I will need to get 898 words written every hour to get to my goal.

0930 to 1000 break

1000 to 1100 got 885 words written. This brings the total to 4522, and 13478 from my goal. Now I need to get 962 words written every hour.

1100 to 1200 – break. I know I said I would only do a break longer than 15 minutes after I got 12000 words written but I had ran out of coffee to keep me awake. That’s what you get for trying a 24 hour marathon with no sleep. I will keep going until I get to the end at midnight to get as close to 18000 words written as possible. Next time I will make sure I am well rested. Of course I said that last time didn’t I?

1202 to 1256  – cut this hour off at 56 minutes because I had finished Life of Attack – at least the first draft of it anyway – and started on The Office Pool. Got to 927 words for a new total of 5449 and 12551 from my goal. Now I need to get 1046 words every hour to get to my goal. It’s doable if I put my mind to it and drop the defeatist attitude.

1302 to 1327 – break

1327 to 1427 – got 861 words for a new total of 6310 words. 11690 words away from my goal.Now I will need to get 1063 words every hour.

1428 to 1500 – break. Being that this is my first day home from a convention I am unpacking on breaks.

1500 to 1600 – got to 875 words for a new total of 7185 and 10815 from my goal. Now I will need to get 1202 words every hour to reach my goal.

1600 to 1640 – break to do more cleaning. Next time make sure I have all the food, coffee and everything I need to do the marathon without having to leave my home and also don’t do a marathon the day I get home from vacation especially after having been driving for 12 hours.

1640 to 1740 – got another 814 words written. New total of 7999 words written bringing me 10001 words away from my goal.

1740 on wards, taking an extended break as I am starting to feel sick, like the flu or something. I will try and come back for 1900 to continue writing.

2000 – 2100 Feeling a lot better now and will start another hour of writing. Got to 846 words written for a new total of 8845 and 9145 away from the goal. Unlikely to get it now. My fault I shouldn’t have tried a marathon on my first day home from vacation after spending two days driving 12 hours or more per day.

2130 – 2230 got 796 words written for a total of 9641 words written.

I will end the marathon now as the sickness is returning
