Hello everyone,

I am currently about 45 minutes away from this month’s writing marathon. I worked on July 1 so this month’s marathon is done on July 16 because I couldn’t do it on the actual holiday for Canada Day.

The goal for this month is to get 18 thousand words written – a goal I didn’t get last month, but I will do everything possible to get it this month.

T minus 19 minutes and counting to the start of the marathon

T minus 8 minutes to the start of the marathon. This is the last countdown reminder, the next blog update will be for 1am after the first hour of writing.

0000 to 0100 Got 1432 words written. 16568 from the goal. The goal for the next hour will be 1720 words. An increase of 20%

0100 – 0107 – quick break

0107 to 0207 Got 1199 words written for a total of 2631. 15369 from the goal. Didn’t get the goal for this hour but will still shoot for 1720 words the next hour.

0210 to 0240 – break

0242 – 0342 – got 1258 words written for a total of 3889. 14111 from the goal. Will be shooting for 1720 words again the next hour.

0343 – 0348 – break

0348 – 0448 – Got 1056 words written for a total of 4945.  13055 words from my goal. Will still shoot for 1720 words on the next writing hour.

0450 – 0530 – Break

0530 – 0630 – got 1254 words written for a total of 6199. 11801 from my goal. I will still shoot for 1720 words next writing hour.

0631 – 0636 – break

0637 – 0737 – 1003 words written for a total of 7202. 10798 from my goal. I will again shoot for 1720 words on the next writing hour.

0737 – 0815 – break

0815 – 0915 -1122 words written and finished the first short story. A total of 8324 words written and 9676 from my goal. the next writing hour I will again shoot for 1720 words. Right now I’m crashing and need to take a little longer break than before. Stay tuned will see you soon.

0915 – 1100 – break.

1100 – 1200 – Got 1246 words written for a total of 9570 and 8430 words from my goal for today. I will still shoot for 1720 words for the next hour.

1201 – 1206 – break

1207 to 1307 – 1092 words written for a total of 10662 words written and 7338 from my goal for the day. I will still shoot for 1720 words for the next hour.

1307 to 1345 – break

1345 to 1445 – 1059 words written for a total of 11721 and 6279 from my goal. I will again still shoot for 1720 words for the next writing hour. 1432 is the current benchmark from the first hour of the marathon

1445 – 1455 – break

1455 – 1555 – 1086 words written for a total of 12807 and 5193 from my goal. I will again shoot for 1720 words for the next writing hour.

1555 – 1645 – break

1645 – 1745 – 1165 words written. Pretty much finished that short story, or maybe not as I want to add a little more as the story itself is only 14 pages long and I want to get my short stories at least 20 pages long that way I am not short changing anyone who buys my books. For the day I have 13972 words written and I am now 4028 away from accomplishing my goal.

1745 – 1820 – a little longer break in order to submit the story I finished earlier to kindle

1820 – 1920 – got 1369 words written for a total of 15341 words. 2659 words written away from my goal for the day. To end this day I am working on The Office Pool.

1920 – 1930 – break

1930 – 2030 – 1326 words written for a total of 16667 words written. Funny how a heavy metal fan would have the number 666 in there. 1333 words from my goal.

2030 – 2050 – break

2050 – 2157 – got 1358 words written. For a total of 18025. surpassed my goal by twenty five words with 2 hours left to go.

I will take a little bit longer break to reward myself, but will finish working to midnight on the short story to see if I can add anything more to it.

2250 to 0000 or earlier. Going to read through the short story I only got to 14 pages to see if I can get another 6 pages added to it. Might as well ride out the rest of this marathon and then decide what I learned from this one to be able to make my goal for the next one in August.
