Keep Up Your Momentum
Hello and welcome back.
Today I would like to talk about keeping up your writing momentum
Tip 1: Set a writing schedule. Make your writing an important part of your day. Block off a period of time where you can get some writing done. Most of us have other commitments such as work and family. One way I’ve used to get some writing in is to write on breaks at work. I also like to carry a notebook with me so I can write when I’m waiting in the doctor’s office or at the dentist.
Tip 2: Set a goal of a certain amount of words that you can easily accomplish. Let’s say 500 words in a day. This is good to start. But the next day increase your goal by ten to twenty percent. Often I’ve found when I’ve set my goal to get a certain amount of words in a day I find that my momentum carries me through to get even more than what I was intending to get.
Tip 3: Block out distractions. When you’re writing have your phone turned off and your email closed out. And don’t have any of your social media accounts open and logged in.
I hope these tips help, have a great day.
