Character Interview With Colton Harris
Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I’m doing my character interview with Colton Harris from No Remorse No Regret. He’s the villain of the story, also known as The Drowner.
IW – So, Colton, what is it that makes you do what you do?
Colton – Does it matter?
IW – it would be nice to get some incite into why a serial killer does the things.
Colton – I guess I will start from the beginning. Pushed around my whole life, my father abused me, mom did nothing to stop it. Bullied in school, girls would laugh at me when I asked them to see a movie, or dance. The times that I did date a girl, it was always because she wanted something from me. Help with a school assignment. They’d be little teases, sit on my knee while studying, pretend they were interested. Then the mark came back and she would end up ghosting me, stop responding to calls, emails, texts. Ignore me in the halls.
IW – that justifies what you did?
Colton – the first one was really an accident, you know. A friend of the girl who used me laughed at me and made fun of me, saying her friend was out of my league. I got angry and pushed her. I didn’t really mean to hurt her, she fell and hit her head on a rock. She was knocked out, I panicked and put my shirt over her face.
IW – Couldn’t you have tried to help her?
Colton – as I said I panicked.
IW – then why keep doing it, why not stop with one victim?
Colton – What can I say? I don’t regret doing it. It gave a better high than pot ever gave. The power to decide who lives and who dies. Revenge against the world for everything that was done to me.
IW – I won’t deny that you had a rough childhood, but don’t you see how once you start victimizing others, you lose the right to cry victim.
Colton – this interview is over, good bye, get out of here.
