Hello and welcome back.

Today’s post is a different take on the What If? game about how to come up with story ideas. This thought came to me last night as I was deciding what I want to write about for today’s blog post.

The what if game is really good, most times. But what if it doesn’t always yield results? Have you ever wondered that?

So to play this game write down at the top of a blank piece of paper “Have You Ever Wondered?” And then for ten to thirty minutes come up with as many ideas as you can. You can also add “What the world would be like” to each of the ideas.

With that in mind – Have You Ever Wondered?

1. What the world would be like if the Roman Empire never fell?
2. If the Soviet Union had won the cold war against the USA?
3. If the Americans lost the war for independence?
4. If none of the revolutions – Russian, French, Chines, etc. – ever happened and the world was still run by monarchs with absolute power?
5. Japan had developed the nuclear bomb and used them on the USA?
6. If the Germans had developed the nuclear bomb and Hitler ordered their use?
7. Money had never been invented?
8. Penicillin and other antibiotics had never been invented
9. Christopher Columbus’s boat sank before reaching the Americas?
10. The whole world was ruled by one monarch

And there you have some ideas I came up with. See what ones you can create.
