Tips For Better Results From Publishing
Hello and welcome back.
Today I will talk about exactly what the title says. How to get better results from publishing.
First off I am assuming that you have the book published. So with that, are you in the right category? You don’t want a romance in the crime mystery section.
The second thing to try is experimenting with the pricing of the book.
And a third thing is are you in only one retailer. It’s totally understandable that you would want to concentrate on Amazon. They are currently the 800 pound gorilla when it comes to Indie authors, they’ve got the majority of the market. In other words Amazon is pretty much the Roman Empire of the indie author world.
But empires do fall. Amazon does have a tendency to change things. A lot of erotica authors saw their incomes drop significantly when Amazon changed things so erotica books don’t show up in their search.
So can we call ourselves independent if we’re only relying on one retailer for all our book sales and income? Is this a good idea? Amazon, being a private business can and does change things that have a negative affect on people’s income.
The final tip then is at the very least prepare to go wide, if you haven’t all ready done so, into other retailers. Smashwords and Draft 2 Digital post books to other retailers.
Hopefully this helps, have a great day.
