Today I will talk about writing prompts, or in other words a way to come up a tool to save time to create a good story or improve on one.

It’s easy to find writing prompts – go to any search engine and search for them. Then use whatever it says on there to free write.

This can help get out of a block in a story or put a twist in it. One version of this would be to in the middle of the story have aliens attack. Or something out of left field. Scan the dictionary for any word that might happen to be there. Or scan the news sites and see if anything might fit.

Writing prompts can also be used to put a twist in dialogue. Have two characters in an argument or chatting about anything then have one of them say something out of the blue like a word from the dictionary or use a line of a favorite song or movie.

Hopefully this helps, have a great day.
