Get More Sales
Hello and welcome back.
I would like to share some tips on what I believe will help make more sales of your books.
One of the things I’ve read on marketing for indie authors is the best marketing of your current book is to write that next book and get it as good as you can possibly make it. You know the army recruiting slogan – be the best you can be. No better advice can be given. Get your book as best as it can be. There are some people who will give negative reviews simply because of typos and grammar mistakes. So do your best not to give people a reason to give you a negative review.
The next thing I would say is to make sure you let all your friends and family know you’ve published a book. This can be done through face to face conversations and on your social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter, and I could probably list a whole *&^% load of others, but I’m sure you get the point. A caveat on this though, don’t constantly say buy my book, buy my book every time you’re on social media or in talking with your friends. It will likely annoy them if you’re constantly saying this – kind of like the friend you have who sells a multi level marketing product who’s always trying to get you to buy their latest thing.
For social media posts and blogging the best advice I’ve read and can give you is to be 80% minimum helpful and informative and 20% maximum commercial or salesy. You don’t want to come across as the person with the five dollar Rolex watch under your trench coat.
A third tip is to be patient. Mostly everything I’ve read on this is for indie authors it takes about 3 to 5 books before you start to gain traction in the marketplace. So keep pumping out the books making them the best they can be.
The fourth tip I should say is to make sure you’re having fun with your marketing and your writing. In the grand scheme of things a novel is not the most important thing in the world, I write fiction to help entertain people. So have fun while you’re making fun.
I hope this helps, have a great day.
