World Building Tips
Hello and welcome back to my blog. Another in the three tips series, this one is on world building.
1. What type of climate is the place your story set in? This will determine a lot of things in the story. For example the type of clothes people wear in a winter climate would be a lot different than in a tropical one. It will also determine what type of food is available to eat. Other things it will determine are the type of housing people live in, what type of recreation people enjoy and how a culture evolves.
2. What is the government, or is there even a government at all? This could be fun to work around. Come up with what would best suit your story. People struggling for freedom would be more believable in a dictatorship type of government. And in a world that is anarchy with no government a story about someone trying to get his or her children to safety could work.
3. Is it a patriarchal (men have the power) or matriarchal (women have the power) society? Again choose which is best for your story.
